  1. HI everyone,
This is a catch-up post for my list. I started this on the first day of a cruise and completed parts of my list there. I haven't numbered my list yet so I will just describe the items for now. I completed a 45' dive at Eden Rock at Grand Cayman on 1/23/09. That was amazing going through some passages. I had planned a wall dive but my ears would not cooperate that day, so I still have that on my list. I got to try native foods in three of the countries we visited (something i would never do in the past). I did have one dance lesson on the cruise. I stumbled over my feet some but I plan to take dance lessons. Yesterday I ordered some of the books for the alternative relationships goal. I have started putting the daily savings away for the project and the $20 for the one I completed. I am continuing to identify what I want to complete for the project and will number the list when I have the 101 (or am close to having the list finished). Several of us at work are doing this together and meeting monthly to encourage each other. I will keep you all informed as we proceed.

  2. We went to see "Taken" on Friday night with some friends of ours. There is the first movie on my list. I really enjoyed the movie.

I'm not a diver, and I've said I'd swim with sharks. Love that sharks are on your list.

  4. Stopping the snacks after 8 pm has already given me some benefits with my goal of losing weight. I am down 4-5 lbs now. I decided I should explain why only 10 lbs in 33 months. In 2004 I was diagnosed with diabetes (Type 2). At that time I was told to stay about my weight at that time. Since then I gained some, so this goal is to get back to that weight of 2004. The doctor did not want me losing below what I was at that time (I had lost weight before being diagnosed). So, while my goal is only 10 lbs in 33 months, it fits with doctor's instructions.

  5. I missed last week, no excuse. I have finished 2 books however. The first was one on my alternative relationship books. It was very informative. The one chapter that helps with my work was on the topic of jealousy. It identified jealousy as an umbrella term for many emotions that are identified as jealousy.
The second book was about the 1917 Halifax explosion. That was something i had never heard of, but I found the topic interesting, even if the book itself was not very well written.
My weight is down 5 lbs now and I will continue to work on that. I am looking for non-western spirituality books to read (I found one in my stacks that I never got around to reading). I will continue the updates before the end of the week. I hope everyone is progressing on their 101 lists. Good luck!

  6. I haven't posted in a few weeks. It has just been crazy at work. I have made some progress. I finished another book just for fun, one for my career, and just finished 1/2 mile swimming today (actually 1000 yds). I am working on my second book about alternative relationships.

  7. I just finished an amazing book by Erich Fromm "The Art of Loving." it is probably the longest 121 page book I ever read. I am still digesting the text. I wish I could say it was easy, but I keep rolling my thoughts about it all. Some of it I already had come to understand before reading what he had to say. I will probably have to read it again to absorb all there is there. I think it is the book that everyone would benefit from reading, but I think many people would not take the time, or they would not like what Fromm has to say. He kind of sticks it to Western culture, especially the western church.

  8. Things got crazy and I have gotten behind on much of this. I have been reading a good bit. Our house was broken into and they took our Wii so that one is now on hold since I no longer have a Wii. We did go to Disney (just got back). I will try to catch up soon.
